About LRRB

The Minnesota Local Road Research Board (LRRB) is responsible for research projects addressing the needs of Minnesota’s municipal and county public works. LRRB research generally falls into four main categories: materials and methods used in constructing and maintaining pavement; drainage systems and other utilities under the pavement; management of the roadside environment; and bridge construction and maintenance. The LRRB was established in 1959 through state legislation, with board members consisting of city and county engineers. To date, the LRRB has sponsored several hundred research projects.
